David Harold Porter, age 84, passed away May 4, 2023. He was born on January 30, 1939 to Harold H. Porter and Myrtle M. Stockwell Porter in Kansas City, MO. He was one of three children and preceded in death by his brother Edward.
David and his family moved to Sierra Madre in 1949. He attended Sierra Madre Elementary School, Woodrow Wilson Jr. High School and Pasadena High School (class of ‘57). He also attended Pasadena City College and ArtCenter, where he studied commercial art.
David enjoyed golf, painting, and developed an almost 50 year love for Little League baseball, both as a coach and a fan. He was a gifted artist, had a generous soul and had a great sense of humor.
David is survived by his wife of 60 years, Denise O’Donnell Porter; his three children, John (Lynn), James (Katharine) and Tracy (Joseph) Chiovare; his six grandchildren, Isabel, Anthony, Grace, Talula, Matthew and Margaret; and his brother James.
David’s life will be celebrated on Friday, June 23 at the Glendora Country Club from 11:00-3:00. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to your charity of choice.
