David Michael Leming

David Michael Leming, 75, of Pasadena California, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 6 2014. Born in Cincinnati Ohio, he lived most of his life in Southern California.

David was a passionate family man who enjoyed being outdoors and volunteering his time to various organizations. He retired after 33 years employed by Pacific telephone and AT&T and also held various positions in the Horse Racing communities at Pomona Fairplex, Santa Anita Racetrack in Arcadia, Los Alamitos and Hollywood Park for over 40 years. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his young granddaughters, serving on the Pasadena Human Relations Commission, and he volunteered in the classrooms of the Pasadena Unified School District for more than 15 years. David was always available to provide a helping hand or to share a funny story to anyone in need.

David was extremely loving and proud of his family. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Anna Maria (Gonzalez) Leming, and his five children, Susan Leming of Norco, Christopher Powell of Vista, Jeffrey Leming of South Pasadena, Scott Leming and his wife Courtney of Pomona, Todd Leming of Pasadena, and his two Granddaughters Audrey and Abigail. He is also survived by his brother Gene Leming of Palm Desert, his sister Patricia Shepherd and her husband Frank of Colorado Springs, his mother-in-Law Hortensia Gonzalez of Pasadena, brother-in-law Gilbert Gonzalez and his wife Eva of San Dimas, as well as his loving nieces, nephews, and many other family members and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, his sister-in-law Jean Leming, his father-in-law Conrad Gonzalez, and brother-in-law Alfonso Gonzalez.

A vigil with a rosary will be held on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 6:30pm and a funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 11:00am, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Sierra Madre. There will be a private burial at a later date. Donations may be made in David's memory to Hathaway-Sycamores in Pasadena.
