Dave Albert Haste

HASTE - Albert David Haste, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at home in the early evening of June 18, 2009. He was born August 21, 1923 in Westfield, New Jersey, and moved to California with this family in 1937. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, and served in the Pacific theater. He retired, in 1979, after 30 years of service with the Los Angeles County Engineers. He enjoyed following business, financial, and current events; horse racing, and trips to Las Vegas and Laughlin, NV. He is survived by his children, David (Pam) Haste; Jennie (Jim) Cecchini; Ronald Haste; and Daniel Haste; five grandchildren, Nina, Amy, Matthew, Ryan and Christopher, and relatives in Washington and New Jersey. He was preceeded in death by his wife of 52 years, Elsie; his father, Albert Edward Haste; mother, Margaret (Daisy); brother, Thomas; sister, Margaret Rockland; and, his big gray cat, Spuds. He will be missed and remembered fondly. Memorial Services are pending. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
