Daniel Claude Moberg

March 25, 1956 — June 25, 2009

A Passionate Father & Friend Daniel Claude Moberg was born on March 25th, 1956. He was the first born of Solange Alain Moberg's four sons. Dan and his three brothers, Robert, Alan, and Sheldon grew up on Primrose in Monrovia, California. It was plain to see at an early age that Dan was going to have a lot of friends. In school, he excelled socially. He was involved in Pop Warner football, played the violin, and found his niche in drama. His most memorable role on stage was playing the king in "The Emperor's New Clothes". Dan attended Monrovia High School and graduated in 1974. Growing up, the Primrose house became the social hub of Monrovia, because Dan had more friends than one could count. They were everywhere. All the kids knew him, and so did the faculty. After high school Dan worked as a sign installer for Graphic Marking Systems and later started his own sign installation company, Graphic Installation Services. Over the past 26 years, Graphic Installation Services grew into a thriving sign company that serviced companies such as ARCO, Jack In The Box, Del Taco, So Cal Auto Dealerships, and Shell Oil Company to name a few. Dan married Jeannette Reitmeyer in 1989, and together they had their son Jared. Jared was the great love of Dan's life. For the past 19 years Dan's full devotion has been to Jared, Jared's activities, work, and play. Dan coached soccer at Monrovia High School, and was an AYSO soccer coach for most of Jared's years on the soccer field. During Jared's high school years, Dan's home quickly became the hang out for Jared and his friends, who affectionately referred to him as "Papa Mo". Some of Dan's favorite past-times were fishing, boating, cooking, and entertaining. Dan's heart was more than generous, and he gave it to everyone. His humor was sublime. Dan's home was your home; Dan's things were your things; Dan's time was your time. He worked hard and played hard. To know Dan was to love him. He had an amazing way of making everyone in his presence feel cherished, loved and important. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, July 1st, 2009 at Douglass & Zook Chapel of Remembrance, 600 E. Foothill Blvd., Monrovia, CA. Viewing at 3:00pm, service at 3:30pm, and a reception to follow.
