Cyrene Wagoner

August 12, 1921 — January 6, 2001

WAGONER - Ellan Cyrene Wagoner, 89 years young went home with Jesus on January 6, 2011. She was born on August 12, 1921 in Lander, Wyoming, continuing her childhood and young adult life in Kansas City, Missouri. She often spoke of her youth and how she enjoyed the closeness of all her family living on the same street, and often wished that all of us could experience that same lifestyle. Cyrene grew up during the depression and spoke of how her daddy always made sure to take care of the family including herself, her mother Goldie, and her sister Mary Mae. She married Vernon Cook and they had two beautiful children Clarence Vernon and Judith Mae. They made the move to the sunshine state of California, taking the Old Route 66 to the end of The Santa Fe Trail where they purchased a lot and broke ground to build a home. Cyrene always cherished this home and lived there for the rest of her life. After Vern’s passing she married James Wagoner and bore another daughter, Jamie Ellan. Memories and traditions continued to build in what once was an empty lot of land. An Evergreen tree still stands large and tall in the front yard that was once used as a Christmas tree to embrace the holiday. Most people will remember Cyrene for her strong faith in the Lord and her strong work ethic that did not know the word failure. She was always committed to doing the best job she could no matter where she was. Her most recent positions were one at A.M.T. where she worked for Harry Sanford. Who she always said was the best boss she ever had. He recognized all her hard work and dedication and rewarded her accordingly. He bought her a couple vehicles including her prized white bronco, which she loved and appreciated so very much. After Harry’s passing she went to work for FuseCote never failing to complete the job at hand. She was loved and respected and her presence there was a true example of Christ. She will be greatly missed by her daughter’s Judie and Jamie and her legacy of seven grandchildren Nyla, Nyvette, Del, David, Kristyn, Nichole and her name sake Cyrene as well as by her little eight great grand children; Ian, William, Caellan, Del IV, Caden, Davey, Charolette ,and Malakai, and never to forget the many others that she has touched.
