Craig Richard Halverson

Craig Richard Halverson, 69, formerly of Menomonie, WI died Tuesday, March 13, 2012 under hospice care at his daughter’s home in Monrovia, CA. Craig was born May 3, 1942 Menomonie to Howard and Helen (Aune) Halverson. He was raised in Menomonie and graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI with a master’s degree from UW-Milwaukee. Throughout his career he worked in different areas of media. He was a speech instructor at UW-Stout, producer/director/anchor of Assignment 10 at WKAR-TV- Michigan State University, worked at the Michigan State Chamber of Commerce, owned Video Advisors and was assistant executive director at the Photo Marketing Association International. He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church N. Ft. Myers, FL after retiring. He held many different church offices while living in Lansing, MI including church President, education board president, and council member at Emanuel. He loved playing golf, enjoyed bowling and loved traveling. He had a passion for writing including two film scripts and a book. He is survived by his wife Susan, his son Richard (Colleen) Halverson, Alexandria, VA and daughter Elizabeth (Michael) Campbell, Monrovia, CA. He has four grandchildren: Evan and Allie Halverson and Madeline and Eleanor Campbell. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be held at First Lutheran Monrovia, CA April 12, 2012 and grave side services will be held in Menomonie, WI at St Paul’s Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Time of Grace or the American Lung Association.
