Chester Arthur Lindsey

May 27, 1951 — December 17, 2016

Chester Arthur Lindsey III, the talkative teddy bear with a big heart was born on May 27, 1951 in Los Angeles, California. Chester was the eldest son of Chester Arthur Lindsey Jr. and Yvonne Virgie-Mae Lindsey. He was a very spiritual and smart boy who loved nothing more than to spend time with his family.

He graduated from Monrovia High School in 1970, and while he was attending he was involved in both drama and choir. He had a beautiful baritone singing voice. As a young man he was fascinated with fast cars and drag racing. He was considered an expert on Ford big block engines and would often receive calls at home with people asking him questions about cams and cylinders and other means of improving the performance of their cars. In December of 1976 he married to Gloria Hulet, the love of his life. The couple had three children; Chester IV, Sandra, and Susanne. Chester had many loves in life: God, family, history, science, conspiracy theories, drawing, fishing and singing…but most of all he loved his children.

Chester passed away December 17th in Baldwin Park. He is now with his mother, father, and youngest daughter Susanne. Chester is survived by his son Chester A. Lindsey IV of Oakland, CA; daughter Sandra Lindsey of Hampton Township, NJ; brothers Versal Lindsey of Redlands, CA and Kearney Lindsey of Duarte CA, and by his many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Those who know him will remember him as a compassionate, gentle spirit, who was always willing to help a friend or lend an ear to a stranger. He was and will always remain a loving father, a wonderful brother and a loyal friend. His presence will be sorely missed but he will always remain in our hearts and thoughts.
