Charles H. Ettensperger

August 2, 1925 — January 1, 2013

After 87 years of life, Charlie went home to God on January 1, 2013. He was born on August 2, 1925, in Sierra Madre, CA to Carl and Mary Ettensperger. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy (Rodgers) Ettensperger, six children, and grandchildren. In his early years, he owned and operated Mountain View Dairy, Monrovia. Charlie married Dorothy Rodgers in 1953, and they had six children. In 1973, Charlie and Dorothy traded in the cows for mobile homes. Together they built Vista Del Monte Mobile Park. Charlie was a member of the Elks Club, Knights of Columbus, and Santa Anita Pigeon Club. He was an avid and well-recognized pigeon flyer. Charlie touched many people with his subtle kindness and generosity. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Rosary will be held on Friday, January 4, starting at 7 pm at Douglass & Zook Chapel of Remembrance Funeral Home in Monrovia. A Memorial Service to celebrate Charlie’s life will be held on Saturday, January 5 at 2 pm at the Annunciation Catholic Church. In place of flowers, the family believes Charlie would prefer donations to Annunciation Church. Care entrusted to Douglass & Zook Chapel of Remembrance FH.
