Charles Bradford

Charles Bradford, 88, of Arcadia, California passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025. A proud son of Sylacauga, Alabama Charles was born in September of 1937, the 7th of 11 children to Marvin E. Bradford and Eunice Conway Bradford.

He attended Mignon Baptist Church with his family as a young boy and graduated BB Comer High School. Charles enjoyed telling stories of growing up in such a large family that they had to eat in two shifts, of summers as a lifeguard at the Avondale pool, of life on the family farm, of playing football for Comer and of growing up in a small, tightly knit ( if you will) mill town. He proudly served in the USAF 497th Fighter Interceptor Squadron and as a computer systems manager and developer in the computer, aerospace and defense industries. He loved football ( Roll Tide), gardening, especially roses, his family, and his home and neighborhood of almost 50 years in Arcadia, CA.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Maria Rosario ( Nina) and their sons Scott, CA and Daniel, WA; his half siblings Gerald and Evadine Headly; brothers Timothy, Marvin Eufer Jr ( Buddy), Johnny, Jimmy, and Larry; sisters Betty ( Perry), and Judy (McMurphy) all of Alabama and Edna ( Camp) of Georgia.

Charles is survived by his daughters Carol Bradford ( Rob Bernstein),MA and Cynthia Boleng,TX; his brother Kenneth Bradford ( Jeffie) and sister Nelda Vogel ( John) of Sylacauga; Grandchildren Nicholas Bradford ( Lourdes), CA and Will Bradford of OH; Lauren, Melanie and Scott Boleng of TX; and great grand children Zeke, Mateo and Joseph of CA.

Arrangements are under the care of Douglass & Zook Funeral and Cremation Services, Monrovia, CA.
