Catherine Marie Lomasney

Catherine Marie (Jobes) Lomasney was born on March 17, 1931 at Schofield Army Base on Oahu, Hawaii to parents Robert Edwin Jobes and Emily (Rocha) Jobes.
She was the oldest of four siblings. Her brother Robert and sister Sylvia, predeceased her.

She is survived by her brother, Michael (Laura) Jobes of Kamuela, Hawaii; four children, Cathy (Mike) Klose of Arcadia; Janis (Jim) Heckel of Yorba Linda; Kimberly (Mark) Stephens of Moraga; and Ed (Michelle) Lomasney of Chino Hills. She has twelve grandchildren, Matthew, Kevin and Jason Klose; Tommy, Brett and Jack Stephens; Brian, Andrew and Sarah Heckel; Emily, Eddie and Sean Lomasney; and two great grandchildren, Gretchen and Katrina Klose.

She traveled to California as a young woman to attend school and met the love of her life, Edward A. Lomasney. They were married on April 27, 1957. They moved from San Gabriel to Arcadia in 1962. She enjoyed being a wife and mother. When her spouse died in 1973, she worked to raise four children as a single mom. She did an amazing job!

In her early work life, Catherine was a dental assistant. She later worked as a medical receptionist (23 years) and also as a childcare worker for the daycare program at Hugo Reid Elementary School.

She loved food and holidays. She loved plants and flowers and was an avid gardener.
Most of all, Catherine/Mom/Tutu loved spending time with her family. (Tutu is Hawaiian for Grandma.) She was able to attend many sporting events, school performances, travel and share in many holidays.

Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 13, 2018 at Holy Angels Church in Arcadia. Rosary will begin at 9:30 A.M.; Funeral Mass at 10 A.M. A lunch reception will follow.
