December 1, 1947 — February 6, 2010

Betty Jo Alderfer Rose, age 62, principal of East Heritage Elementary School, died unexpectedly early Saturday morning, February 6, 2010. Her walk with Jesus was evident in her love for her family and friends, carrying over into all areas of her life. She was passionate about giving all children the best education possible, and was committed to excellence in all that she did. While we are deeply saddened by her sudden passing, we know that she is in the loving arms of her Savior. Betty is survived by her son, Nathan Rose; daughter and son-in-law, Jodi Rose Twombly and Martin Twombly; also by two grand-daughters Katelyn and Rebecca Twombly; her mother, Virginia Alderfer, and her sister and brother and their families. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, 601 N. Garey Avenue in Pomona on Saturday, February 13th, at 11:00 a.m. Donations may be made to: Precept Ministries International, American Cancer Society, and/or, "East Heritage Elementary School Student Fund, Attn: Betty Rose Memorial Fund" at 14250 East Constitution Way, Fontana, CA 92336. Care entrusted to the Douglass & Zook Chapel of Remembrance Funeral Home in Monrovia (626-358-3244).
