Arthur Edward Nilson

Arthur Edward ("Ed") Nilson passed away on August 28, 2022 surrounded by family after a short battle with cancer. An avid hiker and poet, Ed loved nature, spending time with his family, and debating theology and politics with friends.
Ed was born on his family's farm in Marquette, Nebraska to Grace Charlotte Nilson and Arthur Arron Nilson. He started the University of Nebraska at the age of 16 on a Regents Scholarship, graduating with a B.A. in English. He subsequently obtained a Master of Divinity and Ph.D. in Psychology from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California.
Ed spent most of his life in Southern California, settling in Monrovia in 1978. He worked as a clinical psychologist for the State of California while also maintaining a private counseling practice.
Ed is survived by his wife Sheri; their children Erik, Sarah (Vitaly), and Emily (Josh); beloved grandchildren Kaylei, Madelyn, Alexander, Katerina, and Dmitry; his brothers Charles and Bruce; and many nieces and nephews.
Ed's commitment to family, his vast knowledge, and loving nature will be celebrated and greatly missed. Interment will be at the George Western Cemetery on the Nilson family farm in Marquette, Nebraska.
