Anne Rose Potter

Anne Rose Potter passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2011 in Arcadia, CA at the age of 85. She was born to Nicola and Anna Stimola, the last of seven children, on March 30, 1925, in New York, NY. She married Harold Rutherford Potter, Jr. (d. April 1994) on June 25, 1943. They spent their first months of marriage in Williamsburg, VA, while he was stationed there in the U.S. Navy, and then moved to Long Beach, CA, where they lived for the next 45 years. Their final years were spent in Sierra Madre, CA. She was a devout Catholic and a wonderful cook, so just like her kitchen, she was always filled with warmth and love. She is survived by her four children: Hal, Vickie, Tim and Jane; five grandchildren: Kathleen, Monica, Mary, Nick and Caroline; daughter-in-law: Maria; and son-in-law: Andy. Visitation hours beginning at 5 PM on Thursday, January 13 and a Vigil Service beginning at 7:00 PM will both be held at the Douglass & Zook Chapel of Remembrance in Monrovia. A Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM on Friday will be held at St. Rita Catholic Church in Sierra Madre, and will be followed by a graveside service at Forest Lawn in Long Beach beginning at 1:00 PM.
