September 21, 1916 — July 24, 2017

Alma Pontello, 100, long time resident of Royal Oaks in Bradbury passed away on July 24th. Born to Eugene and Ida Libero in New York City, New York, September 21, 1916. She was the oldest of three children. She met and married her husband Bruno at the age of twenty-one and shortly thereafter moved to California where she lived her whole life. Alma became actively involved in the Asian Museum in Pasadena, as well as the Herb Society in Arcadia where she became an expert in the field of herbs using them for medicinal purposes, perfumes and cooking. She spoke several languages, loved cooking and working in the garden. She is survived by her son, James Pontello, three grandchildren (Robert, Vinnie, Andria and their spouses along with three great children Joshua, Matthew, and Benjamin.) She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. A celebration of life will be held on August 19th at Royal Oaks Manor Bradbury.
