De La Cruz Corona Alfredo died September 8, 2012, in the company of loved ones. Alfredo was born July 20, 1932, in San Antonio, Jalisco, Mexico, to Juan De La Cruz and Leonarda Maria Corona. He married Rosalba Mendoza in June 1970. They are the parents of 5 children. Alfredo grew up in the Catholic Church and was baptized in1932. He worked in agriculture with his father before immigrating to the United States in 1951. He worked in various agriculture jobs in northern California and he always remembered the value of hard work. In 1962, he was employed by Ed Anthony Meats Inc., where he was a valued employee for 30 years. He earned the respect and trust of his co-workers by being very responsible and an example of hard work. In retirement, Alfredo spent his time gardening, watching soccer, and caring for his grandchildren. He always wanted to be actively engaged in doing something and fulfilling his responsibilities as a father and grandfather. Alfredo was preceded in death by his parents, and by all but one of his 13 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, the love of his life, Rosalba; his children Rose (David), Silvia, John (Melissa), George, and Maricela (Marc); his brother, Francisco De La Cruz; and 12 grandchildren; Daniel, Christopher, Julius, Matthew, Aspen, Katie, Mariah, Marc, Hannah, Haven, John & Dallin. There will be a viewing at the Douglass & Zook Mortuary, 600 E Foothill Blvd Monrovia. Friday, September 14, from 5:30-8 pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 15, at 12 pm. At The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church located on 740 S. Shamrock Ave, Monrovia. Interment at Live Oak Memorial Park 200 East Duarte Rd, Monrovia. The reception is scheduled for 2pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, on 523 W. Lemon Ave, Monrovia. You are going home, Dad. We bid you farewell until we are reunited again. Until then, may the Lord keep you in his loving arms.
