Alexander D. Centurioni

Alexander “Sandro” Centurioni, - was born on January 29, 1926 in Los Angeles, CA and passed away on July 19, 2009 surrounded by his loving family. Alex was in the 265th Infantry, US Army, in which he served under General George Patton during WWII. He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad for 12 years and was a member of Sheet Metal Local 105 for 60 years. He was a life member of the VFW and a life member emeritus of the Italian Catholic Federation. Alex was an usher/greeter for many years at All Saints Church in Los Angeles and at St. Peter & St. Paul in Alta Loma. In 2005, he received an Honorary Diploma from Damien High School in La Verne. Alex had a love for Santa Anita, San Manuel, Limoncello, and a nice cigar with family. He was devoted to his family, his friends, and his faith. Alex is predeceased by his son, Stephen. He was a loving husband to the love of his life for 61 years, Armandina; loving father of Daniel (Victoria), Elaine (Patrick), David (Angela), Therese (Chuck), Jacqueline (Dwayne) and his daughter-in-law Agnes; "Nono" to 26 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Viewing will be held on Thursday, July 23 from 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM with a Vigil Service starting at 6:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 24 at 10:00 AM. Both at St. Peter & St. Paul Catholic Church, 9135 Banyan St., Alta Loma, CA 91737. Entombment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, 4201 Whittier Blvd., Los Angeles, CA.
